Analysis Of Conflicts In The Novel Johnny Got His Gun

Johnny Got His Gun is about Joe, a young boy who goes through tough times. Since he started school, Joe had to struggle with his life. Joe was a good friend and helped his mother earn money. Joe has had dreams that he can’t stop and this is a major conflict in the story. Joe and Kareen disagree on whether or not they will break up, and Joe’s willingness to go into war. Jose was angry because Jody was mad that he had knocked a vase of flowers over. These conflicts led the writers to introduce characters who were notable for their personalities and actions. They were similar to the main characters in many ways, but not by much. Joe and his friends were the main antagonists.

Joe Bonham is one of the most dynamic and round characters. A round character can be a major player in a story. Characters of this type are shaped by conflict. Dynamic characters are those who change significantly over the course a story, whether it’s in their personality, worldview, or attitude. Jody Simms is another dynamic character because her personality changes. Bill Harper is a static character because he does not undergo any major changes. A character that is static doesn’t go through any major changes in their personality, character and perspective. Mike, who was mentioned only once in the novel’s beginning, is an example of a static character. Diane is another flat character because she only appeared in one chapter. Flat characters are characters that do not undergo major changes from the beginning of a narrative to the end. The characters of the novel are characterized by these characteristics.

Joe and Kareen were the first to clash. Kareen tells Joe she wants to stay with him to start a new family. Joe and Kareen had been dating for several years since the high school graduation. They went everywhere together. They would help each other if they were in need. Until 1 day Joe has been getting in depression. Kareen was very upset about his thoughts of joining the war. Joe left a few days after Kareen had been crying for the entire day. She returned the ring Joe had given her and was shocked that he would be leaving. Joe was hospitalized after being shot for a whole month. Kareen went to hospital after hearing the news. She was in tears because she couldn’t believe it was happening. Kareen hasn’t seen Joe or spoken to him since. They were in a disagreement about Joe going to war. Joe’s life could have been better if Kareen had told him to listen to her.

Joe has also been having strange dreams. Joe is experiencing flashbacks, and he’s been dreaming. He has randomly woken in hospital bed, the desert, or at the ocean. He was struggling to cope with the loss of his father and is now working. Joe becomes angry and asks himself why it is happening. He is constantly arguing and worrying. Joe is unsure what to do, wondering what to say and if there’s a serious problem. He has had a girlfriend for many years and she made him feel better. Joe went in to the hospital for a check-up and the nurse told him he wasn’t ill. But he thinks there is still something wrong. Joe is upset and stressed out all the time. He has decided to join the army.

Jose and Jody are at odds over Jose deliberately destroying boxes of roses. Jose has worked at a baker for many years and is very hardworking. Jody is impressed by his work and says that he has a good attitude. Pinky, a bakery employee who was jealous of Jose for his work, told Jose that it would look funny to smash the boxes with flowers and that she didn’t enjoy working at all. He said that nothing would go wrong. Jody Simmons, the manager saw him do it and was furious with him. He explained that Pinky told him to, but he did not listen. They argued and then he fired him. Jose was depressed and without a job. Then, he got the job of his dreams and was overjoyed.

It was a wonderful novel. Characters were categorized as flat, dynamic, static and round. The book was very engaging to read because it contained many interesting and different conflicts. Joe was saddened by the story. Joe would have been better if he had made better decisions and didn’t stress out. Conflicts were interesting and great.
